Yesterday's Sort-of-Adventures at Camp
Apr. 23rd, 2008 09:03 amYou know it's going to be an interesting day when you look at your tea leaves and they're giving you the finger.
Now, I don't usually put too much faith in divination; I find that it's more useful for figuring out what's going on in my subconscious mind than for looking into the future. But when I looked at my tea leaves yesterday morning, I distinctly saw a hand flipping me the bird. I suppose it's sheer coincidence that I couldn't get the door we usually use to close from the outside when I wanted to leave, so I had to go back inside, shove it closed and lock it from the inside, go out the front door and lock that, then crawl across the rickety deck that we haven't gotten around to tearing down yet, hope I don't fall through, and jump down three-and-a-half feet or so. That wasn't so bad, I guess; it was a bit of a wrench for my bad shoulder, but that felt better within five minutes.
I got stuck in the driveway three times when I tried to leave, though. I eventually got out, of course, but I'm going to have a bit of cosmetic work to do on the driveway when I return (hopefully later this week). And of course, the car's covered in mud now, so it looks like I was doing some major off-road driving through a swamp in that tiny little Toyota Corolla. Somehow, that image just doesn't compute. =)
Anyway, I remembered my tea leaves after all this was over with and had a good chuckle at my own expense. And who knows? Perhaps I might have to re-evaluate my ideas about reading tea leaves after all. =)
